Del 17 al 21 de Diciembre de 2007 se celebrará en el Centro Internacional de Encuentros Matemáticos (CIEM) en Castro Urdiales (Cantabria) el taller 'Workshop on Computer Algebra in Geometric Modeling and Industry'.

Este taller analizará el estado actual y las tendencias del uso del cálculo simbólico aplicado a la industria y la tecnología y entre los conferenciantes invitados se encuentran: Carlos D'Andrea (The Newton polygon of a rational curve), Jean-Charles Faugere (Grobner Basis applications), Manfred Husty (Symbolic computation in mechanism and machine theory), Bert Jüttler (Support functions and rational parameterization of surfaces), Sylvain Lazard (Certified geometric computing with quadrics), Francisco Palacios (Geometric modeling in aeronautical industry), Eugenio Roanes-Lozano (Some Applications of Computer Algebra in Transportation Engineering) y en representación de Addlink Software Científico, José Luis López con la ponencia "New challenges in industry: from numerics to symbolics".
